foreign investors to set up factories in the local area, Mr. Low Kueck Shin,
president of the Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
suggested that the government should simplify the procedures for applying for a
license for foreign-invested factories and shorten the time required to apply
for a license in one-stop way in order to solve the inconvenience for setting
up factories.
He
said that at present, foreign investors who come to set up factories in Malaysia
generally need to wait at least six to nine months before they can obtain licenses
from government department. Mainly because of the foreign investment
application documents, it must be reviewed by varies of government departments.

Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and pointed out this later when
asked.

have come to Malaysia to set up a licensed manufacturing warehouse (LMW). It

manufacturing warehouse from customs bureau.
Mr.

the government can launch the RTS project as soon as possible, in order to be
completed within two and a half years, if the delays will make people lose
confidence in the government.
In
addition, he appealed on the government to assist the merchants in solving the
problems of human resources and technology upgrading while promoting Industry
4.0, because it requires a lot of money and technology to do it.
He
said that the association also hopes that the state government can strengthen
the protection of rivers and water sources, severely deal with polluting
rivers, protect people's lives, and prevent the Pasir Gudang pollution incident
from repeating itself.
Calling for China investment to stimulate
the Malaysian economy
Mr.
Low Kueck Shin pointed out that the association hopes that the government can grasp
the opportunities brought by the China-US trade war, actively attract
investment from China, and stimulate and promote Malaysia’s economic growth.
He
said that China has maintained its position as the largest trading partner of
Malaysia for 10 consecutive years, and the bilateral trade volume in 2018 has
reached USD 108.6 billion.
As
Prime Minister Tun Mahathir visited China to attract investment from China, he
also said that he would set up a one-stop office in the future to speed up the
examination and approval of foreign investment applications. He hoped that the
state government could closely cooperate with the federal government to promote
