KUALA LUMPUR (April 4):
Dato' Haslina binti Abdul Hamid, deputy secretary general of the Ministry of
Tourism, Art and Culture of Malaysia, said that in 2018, 6017 applications for
the Malaysian Second Home Project (MM2H) were accumulated. The authorities have
processed 80% of the applications and it is expected that the application will
be delayed before the end of June this year.
“After the authorities have done
the approval process for all applications, the other application approval
process will be completed within 120 working days.”
At the opening of the 13th
Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Second Home Program Agents Association,
Haslina said that this plan has generated more than RM 17 billion in revenue
for Malaysia since its implementation.
Haslina mentioned that the Ministry of Tourism will
conduct a comprehensive review of MM2H, including exploring its mechanisms to
strengthen this policy. She hopes that the relevant agents will find eligible
applicants to avoid the project being tarnished.

Association, Lim Kok Sai is pleased to see the Ministry of Tourism set up a
special ad hoc group to expedite the processing of the approval process for
MM2H applications.
He said that in 2017, a total of 6,195 applications
were approved. According to the association, the plan has contributed more than
RM 5 billion in revenue to Malaysia.
In addition, the Assembly also adopted seven
proposals:
1. Urge the
“Malaysia, My Second Home Program” Center to complete the approval process
including the applicant's bank account, occupation and salary review within 120
working days.
2. The
authorities need to notify and giving a 90-day term of period when implement
any new policies.
3. Urge the
authorities to giving authorization to the branch offices of the states so that
applicants can go to the immigration team of “MM2H
Program” in Putrajaya to apply for the first visa application and other related
procedures can be processed in other state.
4. Appeal to the authorities to immediately implement the
additional application for the applicant to propose for the parents or in-laws
under the “MM2H Program”.
5. Appeal
to the authorities to implement the e-VDR immediately.
6. For the
case of the additional application, the authorities are requested to approve
the applicant to obtain the approval letter before submitting the RB11 form
(medical report.)
7. Urge the
Road Transport Department Malaysia to approve the “MM2H Program” participants
to process the conversion driver's license.
