"Five
years ago, I proposed to jointly build the 'One Belt, One Road' initiative,
which aims to promote the interconnection of various countries and regions,
form a coordinated development pattern, and expand new growth space for the
world economy."
President
Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the APEC Business Leaders’ Summit,
reaffirming the purpose and principles of the "One Belt, One Road"
initiative, fully affirming the achievements of the "Belt and Road"
initiative and announcing that China will host the second "Belt and
Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum. The words have declared
China’s determination and confidence to make greater contributions to the
common prosperity of all countries in the world, and have injected new impetus
into the promotion of the “Belt and Road” and the benefits of the people of all
countries.
The
“One Belt and One Road” project is jointly built to enhance the development momentum
of the countries in various regions and provide new kinetic energy for the
development of the world economy. In the past five years, China has signed
cooperation agreements with more than 140 countries and international
organizations to build a “One Belt, One Road” cooperation project. A large
number of major cooperation projects have taken root. China’s trade in goods
with the “Belt and Road” related countries has accumulated more than US$5
trillion, and foreign direct investment has exceeded US$60 billion, creating
more than 200,000 jobs for the local government. China’s foreign investment has
become an important engine for stimulating global foreign direct investment
growth. The five-year practice shows that the “One Belt, One Road” initiative
is consistent with the economic development goals of many countries and
regions, promoting economic cooperation and promoting trade and investment
around the world, creating new growth points for the world economy.
The
joint construction of the “Belt and Road” is based on promoting common
development in all regions and countries, and has built an important practical
platform for promoting the building of a community of human destiny. Only by
coordinating national policies and integrating economic factors and developing
resources on a larger scale in the world can we build synergies and promote
world peace and development. The joint construction of the “Belt and Road”
complies with the inherent requirements of the reform of the global governance
system, highlighting the community concept of the commonweal of the same boat,
sharing power and responsibility, and becoming an important way to improve the
global development model and global governance, and promote the healthy
development of economic globalization. The five-year practice shows that the
“One Belt, One Road” countries participate in the challenges facing the world
economy, create new opportunities for development, seek new development
momentum, expand new development space, achieve complementary advantages,
mutual benefit and win-win results, and promote the development of
participating countries.
The
“Belt and Road” is not closed, but open and inclusive; it is not a solo of a
Chinese family, but a chorus of countries along the line. As President Xi
Jinping emphasized that 'One Belt, One Road' is an open platform for
cooperation. It is based on the basic principles of building, sharing, and
sharing. Without geopolitical purposes, no one will not exclude anyone, and
will not close the door. To engage in small circles, it is not the so-called
'traps' that some people say, but the sunshine road that China shares
opportunities with the world and seeks common development." In the process
of building the "Belt and Road", all countries are equal

“Belt and Road” originates from China but belongs to the world. Just as
President Xi Jinping solemnly declared at the 26th APEC Economic Leaders'
Meeting, "China will work with other countries to adhere to the
construction, sharing, high-quality, high-standard, high-level construction of
the "Belt and Road" The people of the Asia-Pacific and the world have
created greater opportunities for development. "China has this morality
